Wayang Restaurant
About
Wayang Restaurant brings the diverse flavors of Indonesia to Alhambra with a fully halal menu rooted in traditional recipes and regional specialties. Named after the centuries-old Indonesian shadow puppet tradition, the restaurant reflects the country’s rich cultural heritage through dishes that highlight aromatic spices, slow-cooked meats, and vibrant sauces. While Indonesian cuisine remains less common than many of its Southeast Asian neighbors, Wayang has earned a loyal following for introducing diners to its depth and variety.
Many of the restaurant’s signature dishes center around bold spice blends rather than heat alone, balancing ingredients like lemongrass, galangal, turmeric, coconut, and fragrant herbs. From classic rice plates to curries and grilled specialties, each dish reflects the layered flavors that define Indonesian cooking. For many guests, Wayang has become a destination for authentic halal Indonesian cuisine in the San Gabriel Valley.
