Its story can be traced back to the spring of 2022 when it breathed new life into the premises of the former Wells Fargo building, providing a delicious, go-to spot that has since captured the hearts and taste buds of the local community.

Behind this venture stands Todd Graves, an entrepreneur who not only serves as the Founder and CEO but also dons the roles of Fry Cook and Cashier with utmost dedication. Todd’s journey to establish Raising Cane’s was fueled by a college dream – the vision of a restaurant devoted exclusively to crafting high-quality chicken finger meals, an ambition that seemed unconventional at the time. Crafting his ambition into a business plan, Todd faced initial setbacks, with his plan ironically receiving the lowest grade in his class. Undeterred by discouraging feedback, he persisted in his pursuit.

Undoubtedly, the road to success was paved with challenges. Todd’s unwavering determination led him to present his visionary business plan to numerous bankers, each time facing skepticism and rejection. Undaunted by the financial roadblocks, he decided to take matters into his own hands. Leaving his comfort zone behind, Todd embarked on a journey to California, where he worked as a boilermaker in an oil refinery. His quest for resources then led him to the terrains of Alaska, where he engaged in the demanding trade of commercial salmon fishing. Upon returning to Baton Rouge, Todd channeled his passion into tangible progress. He meticulously transformed a building into the first-ever Raising Cane’s restaurant, a testament to his commitment and perseverance. The restaurant’s name, an homage to his loyal yellow lab named Raising Cane, encapsulates Todd’s deep-rooted connection to his creation.

The Box Combo stands as a crown jewel on the menu, with preparation that involves marinating the chicken for a full 24 hours, ensuring freshness and flavor. Unlike frozen alternatives, the emphasis on using only fresh ingredients reflects the restaurant’s commitment to quality and authenticity! Additionally, Raising Cane’s takes pride in crafting their refreshing lemonade from scratch every morning, a small yet significant detail that contributes to the restaurant’s unique and wholesome dining experience.
