Kosuke Ramen

About

Kosuke Ramen is a local Japanese-style restaurant specializing in savory ramen, hearty udon, various curries, and other Japanese favorites. Our current Restaurant of the Week is already known by many as a local favorite, having drawn patrons for decades with its authentic menu and laid-back ambiance.

Step into Kosuke Ramen, and you’re welcomed by a small, cozy space that radiates warmth. Some may call it a hole in the wall, but this spot exudes the charm and ambiance of the average Japanese eatery. The intimate setting creates an inviting atmosphere for diners seeking a casual and relaxed dining experience. However, its small size does mean that weekends can get busy, and you might even find yourself waiting in line during peak meal times.

Delicious ramen is their specialty, and the portions are crafted to satisfy even the heartiest appetites. No matter which ramen you choose, you can’t go wrong. The Corn Butter Ramen popular in the Hokkaido region exudes comfort, and the classic Spicy Miso Ramen is an adventure in flavor. However, it is the Popcorn Chicken Ramen, a meal of the restaurant’s own creation, that is by far the most ordered menu item.

Additionally, other Japanese favorites like curry rice, takoyaki (fried octopus balls), udon, and more pepper the modest but expansive menu, providing options for a variety of tastes, diets, and levels of spice tolerance.

Kosuke Ramen operates as a cash-only establishment. While this approach adds to the place’s charm, guests should consider visiting an ATM beforehand.

Located at 618-B W Main St, Kosuke Ramen’s hours are from 11:30 am to 3 pm and again from 5:30 to 9 pm after a brief hiatus. Closed Sundays.

Popcorn Chicken Ramen

Filling, flavorful, and spicy. The broth is savory and salty with a touch of added spice, and the accompanying popcorn chicken is crispy and perfectly seasoned—a match made in heaven.

Croquette Curry

One of the best Japanese comfort foods is curry rice. The deep-fried potato croquettes pair perfectly with this savory, slightly sweet dish.
